It goes beyond ordinary housekeeping by also resetting linens, restocking supplies and checking the property for damage or anything left behind. How long does a turnover take?

The turnover checklist, room by room
Entry and living areas
- Walk the property first and photograph anything damaged or left behind
- Dust surfaces, TV stands and light fixtures
- Vacuum and mop floors, including under sofas and chairs
- Fluff pillows and fold throws so the room looks photo-ready
- Wipe door handles, switches and remote controls
Kitchen
- Empty the dishwasher and wipe the inside of the refrigerator
- Clean the microwave, stovetop and countertops
- Check that pots, pans, glasses and utensils are complete and clean
- Restock coffee, dish soap, sponges and trash bags
- Take out the garbage and replace liners
Bedrooms
- Strip beds completely and remake with fresh linens
- Check mattress protectors and pillows for stains
- Dust nightstands, headboards and lamps
- Look under the bed and inside drawers for left items
Bathrooms
- Scrub toilets, tubs, showers and sinks, then polish mirrors and fixtures
- Replace towels and restock toilet paper, soap and shampoo
- Wipe the floor last, then check the drains for hair
Outdoor space and final check
- Sweep patios and balconies and wipe outdoor furniture
- Confirm the lockbox or smart lock code works
- Do a final walk-through in guest-view: from the door, look at every room
