How much does post-construction cleaning cost in West Palm Beach?
Post-construction cleaning in Florida typically costs $0.20 to $0.75 per square foot, based on published rates. Our post-construction cleaning starts from $264 and is quoted in writing after a walk-through.
What post-construction cleaning costs in West Palm Beach
Post-construction cleaning is the job that turns a renovated space from a work site into somewhere you can live or work. It is priced differently from a regular house cleaning because the work is different: finer dust, more surfaces, and often more than one visit.
There is no single official rate, but published Florida pricing clusters in a consistent range:
| Pricing method | Typical range | Common for |
|---|---|---|
| Per square foot | $0.20 to $0.75 | Whole-home renovations, new builds, commercial spaces |
| Per cleaner, per hour | $25 to $75 | Smaller residential jobs |
| Fixed quote after walk-through | Based on scope | Any job where you want a set total |
The low end of the per-square-foot range fits a light clean after a small refresh. The high end fits heavy dust after a full remodel, with lots of windows, cabinetry and fixtures to detail. A fixed quote after a walk-through is the easiest to budget, because the total doesn't grow if the job takes longer than expected.
Cost examples by project size
These examples apply the published $0.20 to $0.75 per square foot range to common project sizes. They are ranges to budget against, not quotes.
| Project | Size | Estimated cost |
|---|---|---|
| Kitchen or bathroom remodel (affected area) | 300 to 600 sq ft | $60 to $450 |
| Condo renovation | 1,000 sq ft | $200 to $750 |
| Whole-home renovation | 1,500 sq ft | $300 to $1,125 |
| Whole-home renovation or new build | 2,500 sq ft | $500 to $1,875 |
| Large home or new build | 3,500 sq ft | $700 to $2,625 |
| Office or retail build-out | 5,000 sq ft | $1,000 to $3,750 |
A small remodel still has to clear a minimum visit charge, because a crew, equipment and travel cost the same whether the room is large or small. That is why our post-construction cleaning starts from $264.
The three phases: rough, final and touch-up
Larger projects are often cleaned in stages. Knowing which ones your project needs is the biggest factor in the total price.
1. Rough clean
Done while trades are still working, usually after drywall and before paint or flooring. It removes debris, sweeps and vacuums the worst of the dust, and makes the site safer to keep working in. Many smaller projects skip it.
2. Final clean
The main event, once all construction work is finished. Fine dust is removed from every surface, top to bottom: ceiling fans, light fixtures, vents, window frames and tracks, inside cabinets and drawers, baseboards, doors and floors. Paint specks, stickers and adhesive residue come off glass and fixtures.
3. Touch-up clean
A short visit just before move-in or handover. Fine dust keeps settling for days after a renovation, and punch-list work by trades adds more. The touch-up catches both.
Most home renovations need a final clean and sometimes a touch-up. New builds and larger commercial projects are more likely to need all three.
What moves the price up or down
- Dust level. Sanding, drywall and demolition leave far more dust than a paint refresh.
- Number of phases. One final clean costs far less than rough, final and touch-up.
- Windows and glass. Interior glass, window tracks and sliding doors take time, especially with paint specks or stickers.
- Cabinets and built-ins. Dust gets inside every drawer and shelf, and each has to be wiped.
- High surfaces. Tall ceilings, fans and light fixtures need ladders and extra time.
- Residue. Paint splatter, adhesive, grout haze and caulk take careful work to remove without scratching.
- Access. Condo buildings with service elevators, vendor rules or limited hours add coordination time.
- Deadline. A rushed turnaround before a move-in or inspection may need a larger crew.
What's included, and what usually isn't
Included in our post-construction clean
- Fine construction dust removed from every surface
- HEPA vacuuming of floors, vents and trim
- Paint, stickers and adhesive removed from glass and fixtures
- Cabinets cleaned inside and out
- Bathroom and kitchen fixtures detailed
- Windows, tracks and frames cleaned
- Final floor clean and walk-through
Not included
- Debris and material hauling
- Pressure washing
- Repairs
Debris removal is the most common misunderstanding. Cleaning removes dust and residue; hauling away drywall scraps, packaging and leftover material is normally the contractor's job or a junk-removal service. Get that agreed in writing so nobody assumes the other will do it.

Why construction dust is different from household dust
Renovation dust, especially from drywall sanding, is far finer than normal household dust. It hangs in the air, settles on every horizontal surface, gets pulled into air vents, and keeps resettling for days after work stops.
- An ordinary vacuum can push the finest particles back into the air. HEPA vacuums capture them instead.
- Dust has to come off in order, top to bottom, or cleaning the ceiling fan just re-dirties the counter below it.
- Vents and returns need attention, or the air conditioning spreads the dust back around the house.
- A single pass rarely gets it all, which is why larger jobs plan for a touch-up clean.
This is why post-construction cleaning costs more than a deep clean, even though the task list looks similar.
When to book the final clean
- After the last trade. If painters or installers still have touch-ups, the final clean should come after them.
- Before furniture goes back in. Empty rooms clean faster and more thoroughly.
- Before the final walk-through with your contractor. Scuffs, chips and paint misses are much easier to spot on clean surfaces.
- Leave a buffer before move-in. A day or two lets you schedule a touch-up if anything resettles.
Renovation work is common across the county, from older homes in West Palm Beach's historic districts to condos along the Intracoastal. If your project is in a condo, check the building's rules for vendor registration and service elevator bookings early.
Commercial build-outs and office renovations
Offices, medical suites and retail spaces are usually cleaned after a build-out or tenant improvement so the space is ready for handover or opening day. Commercial jobs are almost always priced per square foot or as a fixed quote after a walk-through, and the same phases apply.
Once the space is open, a recurring cleaning schedule keeps it that way. See our guides to commercial cleaning in West Palm Beach and office cleaning in West Palm Beach.
